Omega Security offers NJ Armed SORA certification training in New Jersey for qualified individuals preparing for armed security officer work. This training supports security professionals seeking armed certification guidance, safety awareness, professional conduct, judgment, and responsible decision-making. Important Requirements & Process 1. Confirm eligibility. Applicants must meet the required age guidelines, have valid government photo ID, and have no disqualifying felony convictions. 2. Register with the New Jersey State Police SORA portal and obtain a SORA Application ID. State registration fees may apply. 3. Schedule fingerprinting and background check through the approved New Jersey fingerprinting process. 4. Complete the required SORA initial training. Unarmed SORA certification may be required before armed status or armed upgrade training. 5. Obtain any required New Jersey firearm permits. Armed SORA certification does not automatically authorize firearm carry while working. 6. Submit required documentation and pay applicable state, training, fingerprinting, card, or processing fees. 7. Receive SORA card or armed certification approval once all requirements are completed and approved. 8. Maintain and renew certification as required, including any refresher instruction, annual requirements, and state renewal deadlines. Class space is limited.
