Service Description
 
INITIAL Certification Course is the course required to be completed by all candidates who wish to become certified Security Officers in the State of New Jersey. The course is a 24-hour in-person training course which is delivered over a two or three-day period in a classroom environment.

Security Officer’s Code of Ethics
Criminal Street Gang Awareness
Document & ID Fraud
S.O.R.A. Rules and Regulations

Documenting Incidents & Report Writing
Dealing with Missing Persons
Fire Safety & Hazmat Awareness
Homeland Security
Bombs & Bomb Threat Awareness

Successful completion of this Course requires attending the total number of required class hours, successfully passing a 50-question written examination & the submission of an ID photograph taken by the instructor.
 
To enroll in this course, the student must FIRST submit an online application with the New Jersey State Police, which is the licensing agency for Security Officers in New Jersey, and meet other criteria as specified in the SORA law.
